Journal Publications

Patrick McKeowns work has been published in seven scientific journals and due for publication in two more. Patricks papers in Dental journals are significant as mouth breathing in children is a known contributor to children developing abnormal craniofacial development and crooked teeth. Furthermore, children who undergo orthodontic treatment have a high chance of relapse unless poor breathing habits have been addressed. Patrick McKeown has a tailored program to assist dentists and orthodontists help their patients.

The Irish Dental Association was established in 1922. The Association offers a wide range of educational and scientific services including publication of the Journal of the Irish Dental Association as well as organising two major educational conferences nationally each year plus as numerous regional CPD events. The Association also actively advocates for better oral health for the Irish population.
There are over 1,500 members of the Irish Dental Association. The Association is governed by a Board of Directors which is made up of members of the Association.
