Ana is a Member of the BPI Executive Board and Editor of The Breathing Issue. Ana graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (1st Class Honours) degree International (in English and Spanish) from National University of Ireland Galway in 2001 and went on to work in Madrid with Tourism Ireland. Following this, she worked in the corporate events sector for 6 years in Dublin, both in the Sales & Marketing and Project Management of incentive trips and conferences. Ana then took some time out to volunteer as an English teacher in Ethiopia and on her return she changed her career direction and undertook a MA Degree in Development Studies at Kimmage Development Studies Centre in Dublin. She graduated with first class honours. This MA was designed to prepare participants for work in development in a community, local government, youth/adult education, or NGO setting. It included the exploration of contemporary theories of social change and development and analysis of development policies and practices. Key skills honed were in relation to research, leadership and working with groups and in the planning, management and evaluation of development projects.

Since 2010, Ana has worked in a freelance capacity using her skills in marketing, languages, event planning and community-based development. In 2015, Ana moved back to Galway and began working with Patrick McKeown at Buteyko Clinic International in an administrative and marketing capacity. Her work at the clinic, as well as her interest in health and well-being, has led her to develop a keen interest in the Buteyko Breathing Method and qualify as a Buteyko instructor under Patrick’s tutelage.
