Gabriel is a Member of the BPI Medical Advisory Board. Gabriel qualified as a medical doctor at University College Galway in Ireland. Following this, he spent twenty years working in Canada. During that time, he worked as a Medical Officer in the Canadian Army, as a hospital doctor, and as a general practitioner. Gabriel has a particular interest in integrative medicine. This has been defined as healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle and emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between the doctor and patient. It is also informed by evidence and utilizes all appropriate therapies. As a result of his interest in integrative medicine, Gabriel continued his medical studies and qualified as an accredited member of the American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM).
ACAM is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating physicians and other health care professionals on the safe and effective application of integrative medicine. ACAM’s healthcare model focuses on the prevention of illness and striving for total wellness.
Gabriel returned to Ireland in 2000 and became a Member of the Irish College of General Practitioners. In addition to his interest in the Buteyko Breathing Method, he has a particular interest in heart disease and circulatory disorders. Gabriel practises in clinics in County Meath and County Laois, Ireland. He is a Fellow of Buteyko Professionals International.
