Annette Henry
Hello, I’m Annette Henry, a certified instructor at Buteyko Clinic International.
Having resolved a health challenge through dietary interventions two decades ago, Annette found she needed to support herself to wellness again when Covid 19 left her with seemingly unresolvable breathlessness. This time she looked to breathing exercises, but soon discovered that she needed to find a structured program rather than rely on the haphazard approach of various internet offerings. This led her to Buteyko Breathing.
Training and certification in the method followed quickly when she recognised the widespread need for dysfunctional breathing to be addressed. This was significantly reinforced by the ‘side effects’ she was starting to notice as she worked on her own breathing. After three decades of insomnia she was finally starting to sleep better and the ever-present background hum of anxiety was starting to diminish.
In addition to working with students on a one-to-one basis, for the past two years she has delivered breathing re-education workshops for the UK-based Salus Fatigue Foundation. This has fomented a strong interest in working with those living with Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia and other fatigue-related conditions and she has further expanded her knowledge to include an accredited Vagus Nerve Practitioner certification.
In January 2023 she added Oxygen Advantage® Functional Breathing Instructor Training to her skill set to be able to better serve the students she works with by incorporating new scientific research findings that were not available when Dr. Buteyko was alive. She regularly attends the Buteyko Clinic Question and Answer sessions offered by Patrick McKeown as she considers ongoing learning to be essential.
Aside from her own classes, Annette also works with her husband, Graham Henry. Both are qualified Oxygen Advantage® Functional Breathing Instructors and Plant-based Nutrition Educators.
