Sungwan Won
I became interested in the science and art of breathing when I took a free-diving course. The sense of well-being I felt in the water made me want to experience the same peacefulness and focus on land. I sought practical tools and knowledge to manage stress, distractions, depression, and anxiety through breathing, and I discovered the Buteyko Method. Learning and practicing it has made me less stressed, calmer, and healthier.
I found that good sleep and proper breathing are crucial for both my mental and physical health. The Buteyko Method provided me with many insights and tools for improving these essential functions, resulting in a happier and healthier me.
In 2024, I translated and published George Catlin’s book [Shut Your Mouth and Save Your Life] into Korean. I continue to learn and explore the science and art of breathing and am eager to share my knowledge with others. Besides being a Buteyko Method practitioner, I am also studying to become an Oxygen Advantage practitioner.
Currently, my main interests in life are:
(1) Learning and practicing holistic, science-based, and practical health/self-care techniques.
(2) Challenging my limits through good training, whether in study, exercise, running, or free-diving.
(3) Maintaining a good sense of humor and a positive mindset.
(4) Completing my book translation projects in 2024, hopefully.
