Why this Course Matters
Dysfunctional breathing, often marked by chronic hyperventilation and low end-tidal CO₂, is common yet frequently overlooked in anxiety disorders.
- Up to 1 in 3 anxious patients present with low CO₂ (Davies et al., 2014).
- Low CO₂ predicts poorer outcomes in CBT and increased dropout rates (Meuret et al., 2008; Tolin et al., 2017).
While CBT remains effective for many, it does not directly address respiratory physiology. This course fills the gap—providing a clinically informed framework for integrating breathwork with psychotherapy to optimize client care.
