Hello, I’m Julie Newton, a certified instructor at Buteyko Clinic International.
Julie Newton (RGN) BSc (hons) MSc (cert)
None Medical prescriber.
I am a qualified registered nurse with over 40 years experience. I was a senior sister in ICU for over 20 years and have cared for people with all kinds of respiratory conditions. I am currently working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the community.
I have previously suffered with breast cancer and I decided to undertake breath work to optimise my health by improving oxygen uptake and influencing my overall metabolic health. Having had first hand experience of the positive impact that Buteyko breathing has had on my health and wellbeing, I am now guiding people through the experience of breath work and nervous system regulation.
I am also a cold water therapist, assisting and teaching on courses aimed at guiding people into the cold. By utilising breath work they are able control the impact of cold shock and thereby experiencing the benefits of these therapies. I have also recently completed the Oxygen Advantage course with Patrick McKeown in Galway, Ireland.
I offer a package of therapy to clients which is aimed at improving their health and wellbeing. On a one to one with individuals, l undertake an assessment prior to embarking on a tailored course of therapy. I also teach other health professionals about the benefits and importance of breathing correctly & the Buteyko exercises. Health and safety of the client is paramount to my practice which includes educating people about the advantages of correct breathing and risks of cold water exposure with certain health conditions and medications.
