Hello, I’m Nigel Grimes, a certified instructor at Buteyko Clinic International.
Nigel is a qualified Buteyko and Oxygen Advantage coach with 10 years’ experience training people to breathe for overall wellness and physical performance. He is based in SW London/Surrey.
Nigel is also a qualified life coach, NLP practitioner, forest bathing guide, mindfulness and meditation coach and a mind detox coach.
Nigel has his own wellbeing consultancy, where he works on a 1-2-1 basis or with groups and teams. He has helped many people with challenges such as breathlessness, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, challenges with focusing, sleep disorders, fatigue, menstrual and menopausal symptoms, long-covid, poor stamina and other breath-related illnesses. He also leads or supports corporate, social and sporting teams with wellbeing and team building workshops and retreats.
Nigel’s parents and wider family have a history of mental health and special needs challenges and therefore he has some insight into how it impacts the individual and the connected loved ones. He has two adopted children who are now adults. They both experienced adverse experiences in their birth family and spent time in the foster care system and there are also some special educational needs and accompanying diagnoses that have and continue to require support.
Prior to his wellbeing career, Nigel spent many years working in the corporate world as a senior marketing executive but, after a bout of unexpected illness which conventional medicine did not seem able to cure, he started to explore alternative therapies and found that changing his breathing style combined with relaxed time in nature made his symptoms disappear.
