I am Dr JJ, BDS, MJDF RCS (Eng), DPDS, YTMDip CertBBM, an airway focused dentist with over 15 years of clinical experience and a particular passion for breathing, sleep, airway health and oral function.
Over the years, my work has increasingly taken me beyond simply looking at teeth. We need to understand the whole person: how they breathe, how the tongue and oral muscles function, how they sleep, and how these patterns may influence their health and wellbeing.
My approach combines my dental experience with training in Buteyko breathing, myofunctional therapy and the YTM® Method. I work with both adults and children, using breathing retraining to encourage calmer, more efficient nasal breathing and to help people develop healthier breathing habits that become part of everyday life.
I am also Key Dental Advisor to the British Society of Myofunctional Therapy, and collaboration is an important part of how I practise. Where appropriate, I work alongside other healthcare professionals because I believe the best care often comes from joining the pieces together rather than looking at symptoms in isolation.
For me, Buteyko is not simply about teaching breathing exercises. It is about helping people understand their breathing, recognise patterns that may be holding them back, and giving them practical tools to create meaningful, sustainable change.
I see patients in Camberley, Surrey, welcoming individuals and families from Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and beyond.
