I have worked as a podiatrist for 30 years. Early on in my career, I saw how lack of movement and good health could lead to loss of mobility and many degenerative health conditions.
Mainly for my own mobility, I trained with the British Wheel of Yoga, completing its 3-year teaching diploma, and began life as a yoga teacher.
I was fascinated by Pranayama (yoga breathing), so I started to further my training in this area. My desire for more science around breathing led me next to Patrick McKeown and the Buteyko Method.
It has changed how I teach breathing within my yoga classes and has enabled me to teach many individuals and help their own health journeys.
I am particularly interested in helping with anxiety, coupling breath work with gentle somatic movement and enquiry.
I am also drawn to working with those recovering from and receiving treatment for cancer.
