Free Buteyko Breathing Masterclass for Airway and Clinical Practitioners
For dentists, myofunctional therapists, speech and language therapists, paediatric clinicians, physiotherapists, nurses and allied health professionals. Join Patrick McKeown live to learn how to assess dysfunctional breathing, where it's quietly holding your clients back, and how Buteyko certification adds a structured breathing pathway to the work you already do.
What you'll learn
You'll learn a two-minute breathing assessment you can use with clients the following day. You'll see four real client cases from dental, paediatric, sleep and rehab settings and what changed when breathing was addressed. And you'll know exactly what certification involves, so you can decide if it fits your practice.
Trusted by Practitioners Worldwide
I took the Buteyko certification course, and it has paid off client after client for five years. It's the one course that I recommend to every myofunctional therapist, because you cannot treat myofunctional disorders without treating the breathing dysfunction and the compensational patterns that comes with that.
Excellent, learn the skills to empower both your own and others health, the potential to improve your athletic ability and be a healthier stronger version of yourself.
I wasn’t aware as a medic that just because we breathe automatically, it doesn’t mean we breathe efficiently. Everything I learned through Oxygen Advantage and Buteyko completely changed how I see breathing and health.
Patrick knows this method inside out. He presented the information in a clear and logical fashion, citing clinical and experimental evidence to support the method.
The Buteyko training has been a truly enriching and transformative experience for me. It beautifully combines clear scientific understanding with practical, applicable techniques that I can confidently use with my patients and clients. Patrick’s way of teaching makes complex physiology simple, engaging, and deeply meaningful.
The Buteyko Method has completely transformed how I work with clients experiencing anxiety and breathing dysfunction. The certification gave me the science and the tools.
I came in with high expectations and those expectations were exceeded. My journey to becoming a myofunctional therapist is quite personal. I have been chasing how to improve dysfunctional breathing for almost 20 years and have picked up many things along the way. This course was the last piece of the puzzle but it should have been the first.
As a speech therapist, I consider it very important to eliminate mouth breathing in both children and adults, as this significantly contributes to increasing the effectiveness of speech therapy interventions.

Madison Scott, BSDH
"Buteyko is often the first place where we start. I have found that when we are improving breathing and our patients are reaching their goals, they are also in a much better state to start learning and implementing myofunctional therapy.
Because of that, we've had consistently better outcomes. So thank you to Patrick and Buteyko international for just being an amazing resource for all of us."
Lindsay V. Bancosta, DMD, IMD
"Certified as a Buteyko Breathing Instructor, I incorporate breathwork techniques to support craniofacial development, respiratory health, and nervous system regulation.
Multidisciplinary approach empowers patients to reclaim their health through personalized, root-cause-focused care."
Dr. David McCarty, MD FAASM
"If I'm breathing through my nose and I have functioning paranasal sinuses doing their thing with their nitric oxide, I am literally able to get more oxygen out of the air I'm breathing.
The other thing that happens with the open mouth breathing posture is that we tend to take larger volume breaths with recovery. You take these very, very big breaths, and that's more likely to bottom out your CO2.
The future of sleep medicine is collaborative. This is too complex a problem for one silo of thought to handle."
Gregory A Rittenhouse
"My career as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and Cardiopulmonary Educator spans 26 years. During that time I cared for patients with a variety of health issues in the emergency room, intensive care, and hyperbaric medicine.
I was trained and certified in The Buteyko Breathing Method by Patrick McKeown and I work with clients using various breathing techniques to overcome the effects of asthma, COPD, sleep disorders, anxiety, hypertension, seizure disorders, and other debilitating health problems."
Paula Mayne, MSc, RM
"Patrick knows this method inside out. He presented the information in a clear and logical fashion, citing clinical and experimental evidence to support the method. He explained complex (and paradoxical) physiology in a clear way.
The classes were divided equally between theory and practice of the method. Patrick also gave his time freely to make sure all questions were answered. The course materials are exceptional.
The course was well worth the cost and time. I only wish I'd found it sooner."
Why it matters for your practice
Find the breathing pattern behind the presenting problem
Mouth breathing, chest breathing and over-breathing often sit underneath posture, sleep and airway issues. Buteyko gives you a structured way to spot and correct them.
Help stuck clients switch to nasal breathing
Reducing air hunger makes nasal breathing comfortable rather than a struggle, so clients stick with it.
Support children early
Sleep-disordered breathing up to age five has been linked to around 40% higher odds of special educational needs at age eight. You can act on the breathing habits behind that.
Better outcomes for breathless and recovering patients
Gentle breath retraining complements respiratory and musculoskeletal rehab.
Improve sleep and CPAP tolerance
Nasal breathing and calmer breathing at night help clients who snore, have upper airway resistance or struggle with their mask.
Builds a more complete airway-first approach
Myofunctional therapy improves oral and facial muscle function; Buteyko addresses the breathing pattern that drives those behaviours. Together they create a more comprehensive framework for airway stability.
