Jennifer Donnelly
Jennifer is a qualified Occupational Therapist and PhD scholar from Scotland with a focus on exploring evidence-based strategies to support health and well-being through holistic techniques. Her research spans mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga, with an emphasis on integrating these practices into both clinical settings and everyday life. Jennifer’s work aims to bridge the gap between traditional wellness practices and modern scientific research, ensuring that these techniques are supported by evidence and tailored to individual needs.
In her pursuit of understanding effective breathwork methods, Jennifer trained under Patrick McKeown, a leading authority in the Buteyko Method. This training has allowed her to incorporate the scientifically-backed principles of the Buteyko method into her research, personal life, and work with clients. The Buteyko technique, which focuses on restoring healthy breathing patterns, has shown potential benefits for managing conditions such as asthma, anxiety, and sleep disorders, aligning with Jennifer's broader research interests in holistic health.
Alongside her academic work, Jennifer is also a trained musician and singer, holding a Grade 8 in singing with merit. Her musical background, particularly in vocal control and breath management, provides an additional layer of insight into the importance of breathwork for both physical and mental health.
