2carol 1Carol Baglia – Leesburg, Mt Dora

Carol Baglia has always been health conscious with eating right and exercising so she was surprised when she developed asthma in her forties. She tried several different natural healing methods but the only thing that worked for her to eliminate the asthma symptoms was the Buteyko Breathing Method. Carol was so impressed with what she experienced and witnessed at a Buteyko workshop that she changed business careers and decided to share this life changing knowledge with others. Carol is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and founded Correct Breathing Concepts in 2003. She has been instructing Buteyko full time ever since. Carol was certified by Jennifer Stark with the BIBH and has gone for advanced training in Europe in 2006 and with Patrick McKeown in 2009. She works out of several different wellness centers locally and travels to many locations throughout the USA. Carol is passionate about helping others restore normal healthy breathing in their body all the time.

steve toddDr. Steven E. Todd DMD – Gulf Coast of Florida

Dr. Steven E. Todd DMD, MaS Regenerative Medicine is a Board Certified Oral Implantologist. For 30 years, he practiced Oral Implantology/Total Mouth Reconstruction/Dental Anesthesiology in Kentucky. He moved to the beautiful Emerald Coast of northwest Florida and opened a Dental Sleep Medicine practice dedicated entirely to treating Sleep Disordered Breathing and CPAP intolerant/non-compliant Sleep Apnea patients by using custom Mandibular Advancement Devices (MAD) – oral appliance therapy. He realized CPAP therapy and Oral Appliance Therapy just treated the SYMPTOMS of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) – they did not treat the CAUSE of OSA. Then he discovered the Buteyko Breathing Method and knew this was the missing piece of the puzzle to treat patients with Sleep Apnea and Sleep Disordered Breathing. Dr. Todd, with the Buteyko Breathing Method, could now treat the CAUSE of OSA not just the SYMPTOMS. The results his patients have experienced with Buteyko Breathing have changed their lives! He is the only Certified Buteyko Breathing Method instructor in the Gulf Coast of Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi at Gulf Coast Sleep Specialist in Foley, Alabama.

heather berg imgHeather Berg – South Florida

Heather Berg is a certified Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) and Buteyko Clinic Method Instructor in South Florida.

She has been a yoga practitioner since 1991 studying many ancient yoga traditions. In 2012 Heather began her journey teaching beyond the postures (asana) creating well rounded yoga sessions that always incorporate breath work (pranayama) and meditation to support her groups and individuals. Heather is most interested in guiding others to be self-aware of their habitual physical, mental and emotional patterns. Her intention is for her clients to become discerning practitioners who can then integrate information for themselves. This way, her students will truly learn to practice yoga as a way of life.

Heather leads Hatha, Yin, Yoga Nidra and Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga classes (groups and privates) as well as at larger events such as: Okeechobee Music, Art and Yoga Fest; The Yoga Expo; and Campowerment. At Rancho La Puerta, in Mexico, Heather is a sought-out guest yoga and meditation teacher. She is also part of the yoga teaching staff at Yoga & Adventures Worldwide where she has led 2 retreats in Morocco, Cuba and Santorini in 2022!

She created a corporate wellness program, Practice to Pause, where she engages employees with evidence-based mindfulness tools to feel more present, enhance creativity, performance and improve overall well-being in and out of work.

In March 2020, Heather was introduced to the Buteyko method after reading James Nestor’s book, Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art. Her love of diving deeper into different breath work modalities for her personal and professional practice inspired Heather to study with Patrick McKeown to become a Buteyko instructor. She continues to observe positive changes not only in her own health (better sleep, lessening of menopausal symptoms and more energy), but with her yoga and corporate clients. There are so many parallels between pranayama, the ancient yogic science of breath work and the doctor-developed, researched, functional breathing of the Buteyko method.

Heather makes it her priority to listen to her clients’ individual goals and unique circumstances to help them thrive! Movement, breath work, and meditation each alone can make powerful changes in people’s health, but together they create a transformational experience.

She is available for live and Zoom classes for Yoga (Hatha, Yin, Yoga Nidra), Meditation, and the integration of pranayama and the Buteyko method.

I am certified in Buteyko Method, RYT200, Kids Yoga, and have attended various workshops, trainings and classes related to breath, functional movement and energy healing for over 20 years.

My teaching style has been influenced by Iyengar, Vinyasa flow, Yin, Restorative, Kundalini, Wim Hof Method, Transformational Breathing, Tantra and other modalities. I am passionate about self-care and helping others develop their own practices.

Learning how to Breathe and working with Breath has changed my life and brought a sense of peace and ability to navigate this world in a more purposeful way. What I love about Breathing is that it brings us the ability to see clearly through the tribulations of life and not get caught up in the stories we create in our heads.

I work with individuals, small groups and also teach breathing workshops with companies, both in person and remote via video conferencing. I incorporate different breathing techniques with informative sessions based on the specific needs of an individual or group.

My goal is to share this powerful knowledge and help each and every one of you use your own breath as a tool for self healing.

My areas of focus are:

  • treating anxiety and stress
  • sleep disorders

Kecskes Marton AdorjanKecskes Marton Adorjan

After struggling for 23 years with seasonal depression, social anxiety, allergies, frequent colds that would turn into full blown asthma attacks followed by hospitalization and having conventional symptomatic treatment (inhalers, steroids) Mr. Ady first learnt about the Buteyko Method in Hungary in 2013. It was a lifechanging experience. It was the first time ever he regained control of his health, became asthma free and could manage more easily his anxiety and depression. Regaining his health, finishing his Masters studies in Music & Education he embarked on a global journey and became a digital nomad. After dedicating 1000s of hours and several years learning informally about human behavior (one of his passions), traveling/working/living in more than 55 countries and further refining his own Buteyko Self-Practice with other elements (Clinical Dietary Protocols) he decided to become an accredited and certified Buteyko Clinic Practitioner in 2020. His dedicated self-practice allowed him to achieve great results (4-6 hour sleep, 30-40 sec MCP/BOLT score). He is mostly based in Asia with occasional relocations to Europe & the Americas. Aside from his dedicated profession he is also interested in languages (being fluent in 4), cultures (continues to travel), personality psychology (to tailor & customize his services, Big5) and the latest cancer research (PKD, metabolic health) and on a broader scale about lifestyle disease in general.

To make the Buteyko Method more accessible in Asia he provides online instruction at very low cost!!!

Ariana C. Diaz – MiamiAriana C. Diaz – Miami

I am Ariana C. Diaz, a Venezuelan dentist deeply passionate about well-being and teaching. My expertise lies in the intricate nature of the oral cavity, which holds invaluable insights into overall health, nutrition, breathing habits, and stress management. Through personal experiences, I have come to realize the vital significance of self-care as a prerequisite for caring for others. By embodying these principles, I aspire to guide individuals towards fulfillment, happiness, and optimal health.

In 2022, my journey led me to the realms of functional dentistry, where I delved into the profound connection between breathing and well-being. It was during this exploration that I discovered the transformative practices of Heart Math and Buteyko breathing. Throughout history, the intrinsic importance of our breath has been emphasized, yet we have lost touch with the art of optimal breathing. By integrating breath re-education techniques and heart coherence practices, we have the power to transcend stress and cultivate equilibrium and fulfillment in our lives.

I am immensely grateful for your companionship on this empowering journey of rejuvenating your body, one breath at a time. Together, let’s embrace the transformative potential that lies within us.

Michael Lansing, M. D. – Delray BeachMichael Lansing, M. D. – Delray Beach

I have been an avid outdoorsman throughout my life enjoying snow skiing, fishing, backpacking and climbing. I studied physical anthropology as an undergraduate, and biological anthropology for my PhD. Regarding the latter, I was studying the Quechua people living at high altitude in Peru/Andes, but did not finish my dissertation, as my father was ill and died at the age of 48 from COPD. It was then that I changed my career path, went to medical school, then a residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine. I have spent 30 years of clinical practice in these areas, in addition to the area of sleep medicine. During this time, I also served as the Medical Director of the ICU and several inpatient and outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation programs that I helped develop.
In my final year of practice, 2021, I read a life-changing book called Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art by James Nester. This book was Mr. Nestor’s account of his worldwide journey to find out what has happened with our breathing, and what can be done to correct the problem. He explored various breathing practices, some of which are ancient, including pranayama, Nadi Shodhana, yoga, Sudarshan Kriya and TUMMO, and the more recent Buteyko breathing method. I was particularly interested in the Buteyko Breathing Method (BBM) started by the Russian physician Dr Konstantin Buteyko in the 1950s. I read numerous scientific articles that corroborated some of his theories regarding what is proper breathing. My interest was piqued and I pursued training through the Buteyko Clinical International founded by Patrick McKeown, a leading authority on this breathing technique, and who studied under Dr. Buteyko in Moscow. After finishing my studies, I became certified in the BBM (CertBBM), and followed this with studies through Patrick McKeown on the Oxygen Advantage, which led to certification as an Advanced Instructor (CertoA).

Armed with my medical knowledge in the area of pulmonary medicine along with my new knowledge of non-western approaches to breathing, I feel I can offer a very unique perspective and set of skills to help individuals with disordered breathing, anxiety, asthma, COPD, long-haulers of COVID with their myriad of symptoms, and sleep disorders (obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, mixed/complex sleep apnea). Regarding this latter area, I not only have extensive medical understanding of the issues, but I myself suffer from severe obstructive sleep apnea.

I offer an individualized, caring and compassionate approach to my clients. I enjoy helping them understand the science and thought processes that are involved in the application of the breathing exercises to help with their disorders.
