Buteyko Breathing Instructors Washington

Robin Rothenberg1Robin Rothenberg – Seattle, Washington

Robin Rothenberg is an IAYT*Certified Yoga Therapist and Buteyko instructor outside Seattle, Washington. In practice for over 30 years, Robin creates customized yoga programs to support individuals living with chronic pain and chronic health conditions.

Combining breath work, gentle movement, meditative processes and life-style changes, Robin helps her clients become self-aware of the habitual patterns that lead to suffering and promotes the formation of new practices that support health. She is also Director of Essential Yoga Therapy an IAYT Accredited Yoga Therapist Training Program, training seasoned yoga teachers in the therapeutic application of yoga philosophy and techniques. (*IAYT: International Association of Yoga Therapy www.iayt.org)

Robin was introduced to the Buteyko method 10 years ago via her long-time yoga student Pippa Kiraly who used it to recover from life-long asthma at the age of 68. When Robin’s own respiratory health was compromised in 2014, she turned to Pippa for support. The resulting shift in her overall physiologic and psychological well-being prompted Robin to become a Buteyko instructor. In April 2015, she traveled to Dublin and trained with Patrick McKeown. Since that time Robin has observed continued positive changes in her own health and has incorporated Buteyko into her work with clients and in her presentation of pranayama to her yoga therapy students. Within the yoga community she is committed to transforming traditionally held beliefs about pranayama practices to be more in line with true respiratory health and to educate her colleagues as to the beautiful alignment between the ancient yoga texts on breathing and the Buteyko method.

Additionally, Robin has been involved in yoga research since 2000. Most significantly, she co-authored the protocol for the landmark studies utilizing yoga therapy to address lower back pain published in 2005 and 2011, and is recognized as an expert in lower back health. She is the author of The Essential Low Back Pain: Relieve Pain and Restore Health as well as two Yoga Nidra CD’s for relaxation: Soothing the Spirit and Cooling Nidras. Robin is a Spiritual Director and created the DVD The Shema Through the Chakras as a bridge between her Jewish roots and her deep appreciation for the chakra energy model.

Oak Harbor, Washington

Since 1985, Jamesa has enjoyed working in the dental field.  In 1992, she became a Registered Dental Hygienist in Washington State and Arizona after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University.  Her passion is recognizing each patient individually and creating a treatment plan to suit each person’s needs and concerns.  Jamesa’s curiosity and desire for building her knowledge guides her to help patients reach a state of health beyond their dental health.  Working on a team for the benefit of the patient is what Jamesa loves to be a part of.  This is what led her to an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) course in 2016.  From there she studied with the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy.  In 2017, she joined the International Association of Orofacial Myology.  In 2018, she opened her Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy business named Pacific Myo in Oak Harbor, WA.  Jamesa became a Buteyko Breathing Educator after studying with Patrick McKeown, in Fall City, WA in 2018.  Buteyko Breathing is an important link to guiding her OMT and dental patients to a healthy oral posture.  The goals of OMT are to create a proper lip seal, proper tongue posture, correct chewing and swallowing, and nasal breathing.  Currently, Jamesa is a certification track candidate to become a “Certified Orofacial Myologist” TM.  Jamesa is accepting new patients and she also is available for Skype sessions.  Please call or email.  Website coming soon!Pacific Myo

kathy stevensonKathy Stevenson
Okanogan, Washington

Kathy is a certified yoga therapist and yoga teacher who has been practicing in Okanogan, Washington since 2010. Kathy had a strong desire to help family, friends and students who were suffering from asthma, COPD, snoring, allergies and sleep apnea. The breathing she was teaching in yoga classes and private therapeutic sessions gave little long term relief. She heard about Buteyko Breathing several years ago and felt it was what she needed to be teaching and practicing herself. Kathy was fortunate to be able to train with Patrick McKeown in March 2018. In her free time she enjoys bicycling, hiking and running. These activities have improved and become more enjoyable since learning the Buteyko Breathing Method.

“I will transform your relationship with your breath (our biological lever) into your most essential, accessible and free wellness tool.” – Chris Wurden

Chris comes from a past of severe asthma, debilitating panic attacks, & chronic allergies. From the age of 2 ½ to 15 he experienced frequent hospitalizations… he was put on steroids, was allergic to almost everything, and lived in chronic fear of an unknown force that could stop his breath at any time. Due to these experiences, he chose to dedicate his life to searching for the most effective ways to thrive with stress, anxiety, and panic.

On his journey he has traveled to over 30 countries, sat in multi-week silent meditation retreats in Thailand, became a SSI Dive Control Specialist, floated for hours in sensory deprivation tanks, and took month long treks through the Himalayas.

In 2018 he first discovered the incredible benefits of conscious breathwork & realized he had found his calling in life. Since that moment, he has studied directly under Wim Hof in Poland, completed his Advanced Oxygen Advantage training with Patrick McKeown and Buteyko training with the Buteyko Clinic. You can be sure he won’t stop there.

He understands that all methodologies have their strengths and weaknesses, depending on where they are being applied, and is grounded in gaining a holistic view in order to synthesize and apply them in the most powerful ways to you!

Kecskes Marton AdorjanKecskes Marton Adorjan

After struggling for 23 years with seasonal depression, social anxiety, allergies, frequent colds that would turn into full blown asthma attacks followed by hospitalization and having conventional symptomatic treatment (inhalers, steroids) Mr. Ady first learnt about the Buteyko Method in Hungary in 2013. It was a lifechanging experience. It was the first time ever he regained control of his health, became asthma free and could manage more easily his anxiety and depression. Regaining his health, finishing his Masters studies in Music & Education he embarked on a global journey and became a digital nomad. After dedicating 1000s of hours and several years learning informally about human behavior (one of his passions), traveling/working/living in more than 55 countries and further refining his own Buteyko Self-Practice with other elements (Clinical Dietary Protocols) he decided to become an accredited and certified Buteyko Clinic Practitioner in 2020. His dedicated self-practice allowed him to achieve great results (4-6 hour sleep, 30-40 sec MCP/BOLT score). He is mostly based in Asia with occasional relocations to Europe & the Americas. Aside from his dedicated profession he is also interested in languages (being fluent in 4), cultures (continues to travel), personality psychology (to tailor & customize his services, Big5) and the latest cancer research (PKD, metabolic health) and on a broader scale about lifestyle disease in general.

To make the Buteyko Method more accessible in Asia he provides online instruction at very low cost!!!
