My name is Dr Ajita Misra (PT), I am a Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapist and I teach physiotherapy management of cardiac and respiratory disorders, physiotherapy treatment for ICU patients especially post-surgical cases. Developing customized cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation is also a part of my job. I am presently based in Hyderabad city which is in Telangana state of India.

I would like to work with children and adolescents who are mouth breathers. As an academician I often come across students who find it difficult to stay alert in the class and lack concentration, I believe Buteyko breathing re-education can help them perform better academically. I would also like to work with asthmatics and patients with allergic rhinitis. My mother is an asthmatic, she also suffers with sinusitis and has been operated for the correction of deviated nasal septum. I decided to search and learn a good non drug treatment for breathing disorders, as I had seen my mother suffer a lot even while taking medicines. Today my mother practices Buteyko breathing exercises every day, she also meditates and practices mindfulness, as a result she hasn’t suffered from an asthmatic attack in past 3 years. Even my 5 year old son can decongest his nose on his own with the help of Buteyko nose decongestion exercise.
